Pas de la Casa Andorra
Pas de la Casa is the highest and sunniest resort in Andorra, perched right on the French border within the extensive Grandvalira ski area. Pas de la Casa or Pas as it is commonly known, shares the Grandvalira lift pass with neighboring El Tarter. This purpose built resort boasts an excellent snow record, a state of the art lift system and an excellent selection of slopes for beginner and intermediates. Another draw of this destination is its excellent nightlife with a plethora of lively bars and clubs to choose from. Founded by Francesc Viladomat in season 1956-57 the resort opened with one truck engine powered ski lift servicing the Coll Blanc slope. The resort has come a long way since its humble beginnings with 31 modern lifts now servicing the slopes.
The resort expanded from its single host mountain, the Pic d’Envalira, in 1976 and grew to incorporate Montmalús and the Pic del Cubil by the late 1980s.
Adhering to ambitious growth plans two key dates mark the development of Pas de la Casa – Grau Roig: In 1986, the resort became the first to incorporate automatic snow canons into its infrastructure, whilst 1998 opened new skiable terrain through the launch of a gondola system over the Collada d’Enradort connecting the resort to Encamp.
“Finally the 2003-2004 Pas de la Casa-Grau Roig season led to another important one and it united with Soldeu El Tarter, thus creating G R A N D V A L I R A, one of the largest ski areas in Europe”.
